About Carm
I believe that every person carries inherent goodness and that hope can be found in even the most challenging situations. As a psychotherapist, I have had the privilege of helping individuals heal, grow, and strengthen their connections. My approach as a relational therapist recognizes the profound impact that relationships have on our well-being.
Rather than seeing clients as defined by their struggles, I see each person as a unique individual with their own story, shaped by meaningful relationships and life experiences. You are not the things that have happened to you. My focus is on creating a supportive space where clients can explore their challenges, uncover their strengths, and move toward healing—even when hope feels distant.
I provide a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can safely explore their emotions, thoughts, and challenges. My approach is collaborative and rooted in both relational and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, helping clients identify unhelpful patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build resilience. By integrating a strength-based and solution-focused perspective, I guide clients toward practical steps that foster growth and change. Whether struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck in life, I support clients in gaining insight, reframing perspectives, and developing tools to move forward with confidence.
Starting therapy is a big step, and I’m here to make the process as easy and comfortable as possible. If you’re curious about how we might work together, I invite you to reach out with any questions. You can book a session directly through the site or schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. And if I’m not the right therapist for you, I’ll be happy to help guide you toward someone who is. Therapy is a space for you to explore, grow, and build a future that feels lighter and more hopeful, and I’d be honoured to walk alongside you on that journey.
Carm’s Story
My journey to becoming a therapist began with my own search for healing. After experiencing my own profound losses, health issues, trauma and complex grief, I turned to self-help, education, and community to better understand myself and navigate life’s challenges. Through my studies, my work supporting others, and my own personal growth, I realized how powerful it is to have someone who truly listens and understands. This quest for self-discovery as an adolescent led me to pursue a career in mental health beginning nearly 10 years ago. Along the way, I published a book and created self help tools hoping to empower others on their healing journeys as I had once needed.
Whether you’re working through grief, relationships, anxiety, self-image, family conflict, understanding your attachment style or life transitions, I want to help you feel seen, heard, and empowered to heal in a way that feels right for you. Through my experiences, both personal and professional, I’ve come to understand the profound impact of compassion and connection in the healing process. I want to help you create that same kind of space for yourself—where you can explore your feelings, confront your fears, and find peace in all past, present and future versions of yourself.
Therapy with Carm
Your first therapy session is all about you—your story, your struggles, and your hopes for the future. We’ll start by getting to know who you are: your background, experiences, and the people in your life. Then, we’ll dive into what’s bringing you to therapy, exploring the challenges that feel most pressing right now. These concerns will serve as the foundation for our work together. Finally, we’ll define your goals—what change looks like for you and how we can work toward that. Most importantly, you are in control of this journey, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
