About Colleen

When life doesn’t seem to be going according to plan we can be left feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and unsure of what step to take next. It is my belief however that we each have within us all we need to succeed and thrive in our lives, sometimes it just gets buried under all of our “stuff” and we could use a hand to rediscover it. I’m continually inspired by the strength, resilience, and creativity demonstrated in the life stories of the people I work with and consider it a privilege to be invited to walk alongside them for a chapter or two. I respect the courage it takes to reach out for support, so welcome, I’m glad you’re here!

I feel it’s through supportive relationships that we foster growth and understanding about ourselves; and so I strive to create a safe, judgement free space for clients to explore both their inner world and their connection to the world around them. Together we’ll identify and tackle the obstacles keeping you from enjoying the life you envision for yourself.

Therapy should never feel like a one size fits all approach. If you have any questions about how my therapeutic style might fit with your goals, or if you have any questions about therapy in general, please don’t hesitate to call or email me. You can also book a session on our site or book a free 15-minute phone consultation. I look forward to meeting you!

Colleen’s Story

My journey has been a bit of a winding trail, but full of many wonderful learning experiences that help me in the work I do today. Initially I trained to be a Developmental Service Worker, but a shift in the economy necessitated a course correction that launched me into the business sector instead. There, I worked my way up to management level in procurement and supply chain management. While I loved the fast pace and problem solving challenges, after 13yrs in business, the opportunity to return to human services presented itself, and I was excited to be going back to my roots. I have been fortunate since then, to work in a variety of support care roles that provided a diverse range of opportunities. I have helped clients meet their daily living goals, as well as engage in the community in a way that was meaningful to them (eg. life skills, behaviour management, education, mobility, personal care). As I continued with my own educational pursuits I was able to expand into healthcare as a Personal Support Worker, supporting the social, emotional, and physical wellbeing of clients and their families (eg. palliative care, respite programs, harm reduction/addictions, sexual health, dementia care, chronic and acute illness with associated life changes). As I looked for ways to continue growing in my career, I recognized that it was the supportive connections with clients that was a common thread that inspired me to keep leaning into the opportunities life presented. So, now as a therapist, it is my hope that our work together can generate a similar sense of curiosity and confidence so that you too can lean into creating the life you want for yourself.
