About Jemima
I am dedicated to supporting youth and young adults as they navigate career development and self-discovery. My ideal client is someone grappling with identity and mental health challenges, seeking guidance in overcoming obstacles and setting personal goals. As an active listener with a soothing voice, I create a calming environment where clients feel understood. I provide services for stress, trauma, self-esteem, and anxiety. My experience in Indonesia working with non profit, and diverse range of clients, has informed my approach to innovative, tailored mentoring. Additionally, my master degree’s thesis research on blended family immigrants in Canada and also SSHRC funded research on immigrant experience in Canada has deepened my understanding of unique immigrant challenges, shaping my passion for diversity and helping others thrive.
I specialize in supporting youth and young adults facing mental health challenges, identity issues, and career development. With a bachelor’s in clinical psychology and a master’s in social work, I blend theoretical frameworks from psychotherapy, behavioral, cognitive, and humanistic perspectives. My non-judgmental, caring approach fosters trust, while my experience in hospital settings and with the Ontario College of Social Workers equips me to provide effective, compassionate support tailored to individual needs.

Jemima’s Story
My journey to becoming a therapist began with a deep passion for understanding human behavior and supporting those in need. Growing up in a blended family as a first-generation immigrant from Indonesia, I experienced the complexities of cultural identity and adaptation.
This fueled my desire to help others navigate similar challenges.
I pursued a Bachelor’s in Psychology and later a Master’s in Social Work at the University of Toronto, where I gained a solid foundation in therapeutic modalities. My experiences as a youth mentor and counselor allowed me to work closely with young people facing mental health challenges, identity issues, and life transitions.
Through this work, I discovered the power of empathy, active listening, and fostering a safe space for individuals to explore their feelings. Each client’s story has enriched my understanding of resilience and healing. Today, I am dedicated to empowering others on their journeys, using my background and insights to provide compassionate, effective support.
