About Abeera
How are you, really? When was the last time you showed up for yourself the way you show up for everyone else? Sometimes we spend so much time being the person everyone can rely on that we forget what it feels like to be cared for, too. This may show up as anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship stress, grief, depression, stress, or feeling disconnected from who you are. Maybe you’re navigating a life transition, identity questions, struggling with boundaries, or putting others first. Therapy can help you pause, understand what’s beneath the surface, rebuild confidence, and create a life that feels authentic, balanced, and fulfilling.
This is where I come in. Before strategies or solutions, my priority is creating a relationship where you can come as you are and feel safe, seen, and understood in a world that can feel relentless. Together, we’ll explore what’s beneath the surface, make space for difficult emotions, and build healthier ways to cope, communicate, and care for yourself.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. If something here feels familiar, that may be reason enough to begin. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can connect, talk about what you’re looking for, and see whether we may be a good fit. When you’re ready, I’d be honoured to take that first step with you, at your pace.
Therapy with Abeera
In our first few sessions, we’ll get to know your story, what’s been happening in your life, and what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about the concerns affecting you most, explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and coping, and clarify what you want to change. From there, we’ll build a plan together and work toward those goals at a pace that feels right for you.
Abeera’s Story
I didn’t always know I’d become a therapist one day. As a kid, I loved dinosaurs and thought I’d grow up to be a paleontologist. I even had an A-Z list of all the dinosaurs discovered at the time. But somewhere along my educational journey, something unexpected happened: I fell in love with psychology, while life circumstances, like they do for so many of us, shifted how I viewed the world. My curiosity moved from dinosaurs to something a little more modern—the human body and psyche.
In undergrad, I had the privilege of studying biology, psychology, and philosophy, and together, those disciplines slowly shaped the person I am today, before I ever called myself a therapist. I even attended therapy myself, which actually helped to shape the kind of therapist I wanted to become. Grad school later taught me that therapy is not about “fixing” people. It is about helping people grow, heal, make sense of the past, and learn how to live with being “imperfect”.
That is what I hope to create now: a space where clients can laugh, cry, make mistakes, share a picture of the cat they saw on the street, and still feel fully accepted as they are. Because sometimes healing begins when we finally feel safe enough to simply be human.
