About Nidhi’s Training and Credentials
I am trained in behaviour therapy and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), and I have also worked as an Early Childhood Educator in the past. I have several years of experience in developing and maintaining strong therapeutic relationships in high-stress mental health settings.

Among all the great things that we want for ourselves, perhaps happiness tops the list for most of us. But life may not always turn out the way we expect, and that can hurt. There may be times when we feel stuck, angry, lost, confused, unhappy, or overwhelmed. What do we do then? In such times, I like to remind myself of the words of Haruki Murakami: “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional”. This perspective offers us strength to move towards inner healing and positive change.

Seeking help and support through therapy is a beautiful way to practice self-love; when you truly love yourself, you value who you are and can grow towards you may wish to become. Therapy is brave work; allow yourself to grow with it and become the best version of yourself.

My utmost goal is to create a space where you feel safe to express your authentic self while you are on your journey of healing and self-growth. I am here to listen and understand with a non-judgemental lens. Being a therapist is more than just a job for me—it is the expression of my desire to show compassion, empathy, and genuine care for other people.

As an Indo-Canadian woman, I have a passion for culturally safe and responsive therapy. I use a compassion-focused, anti-oppressive, holistic and a trauma-informed approach. I draw from an array of therapeutic modalities to fit my clients’ goals.

Taking that first step towards seeking therapy may not always be easy. If you are thinking about it, I truly applaud you! Do not hesitate to reach out to me to begin your therapy journey. You can use the links on this page to book a session or a free 15-minute phone call. And if you and I are not the right fit for one another, I’d be happy to help connect you with the right therapist for you!

Therapy with Nidhi

I invite you on this journey of therapy to uncover the why, what, how, and where in a space that is safe and trusting. We start with discussing “why” you chose to seek therapy. We then delve into “what” goals you may have for yourself. Then, we look at the “hows” of achieving your goals. We also explore “where” you view yourself in the journey of therapy and “where” you think it may take you.

Nidhi’s Story

My journey to becoming a therapist is two-fold. In my previous work as a behaviour therapist, I became interested in psychotherapy to understand how stress, anxiety, sadness, emotional problems, and depressive thoughts can impact people’s lives. In my personal life, I have endured a life-changing divorce. Seeking therapy during that rough phase not only helped me get my life back on track but also reiterated the importance of taking care of my mental health, which positively impacted my overall quality of life.

Most of us have two lives. The life we love and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands resistance” (Steven Pressfield). The passion to work with people to explore and address this resistance became the driving force behind my decision to become a therapist.

I consider it to be my complete honour and privilege to do the work that I do as a psychotherapist! My goal will be to create a space that you find safe, trusting and compassionate. In our work together, my hope will be to provide you with an experience that is meaningful, empowering and one that brings a smile to your face!
