About Shafaq

I believe there is good in every person and hope in every situation, a perspective I’ve gained through my work with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Rather than viewing any of my clients as broken or in need of fixing, I see their beautiful uniqueness, which is evident in their individual stories, experiences, strengths, and challenges. My goal is to create a safe space where you too can feel heard, supported, and empowered to heal, grow, and build meaningful connections.

I provide an environment where you can be yourself, and where you can speak freely, explore your emotions, and embrace who you are. Using narrative therapy, strength-based, solution-focused, and CBT approaches, I help clients reframe their stories, build resilience, and develop strategies for growth. Together, we can navigate challenges, uncover strengths, and create significant change.

I know that reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, but you do not need to endure your struggles alone—if you are feeling stuck, unheard, or just need a space to be yourself, I’m here to help. Whether you are ready to book a session or just want to see if we’re the right fit, I’d love to connect. Using the links on this page, you can book a session or a free 15-minute phone consultation; even if I’m not the right therapist for you, I will gladly help you find someone who is.

Shafaq’s Story

As a Pakistani Muslim Canadian, my personal journey has shaped my understanding of the importance of cultural and worldview sensitivity in therapy. Growing up between two distinct cultures, I became attuned to the complexities that come with navigating identity, expectations, and values. This journey sparked my passion for helping others work through their own unique challenges, particularly when it comes to cultural, familial, and societal pressures.

I became a therapist because I wanted to provide a safe, supportive space for individuals, couples, and families to explore their emotions and experiences. My path to therapy was guided by a desire to help others find their voice, heal from past wounds, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I’ve seen firsthand how vital it is to honour each person’s unique story and perspective, and I’m committed to helping my clients feel understood and empowered, no matter their background or struggle. Through this work, I continue to grow, learn, and be inspired by the resilience of those I have the privilege to serve.
