About Nikki
I believe that there is good in everyone. I believe in the power of unconditional positive regard and aim to provide you with a safe, judgement-free place to explore who you are and who you want to be. I like to work from an eclectic, integrative and collaborative approach because I realize that everyone is going to respond differently to therapy. I believe that life, people and the issues we experience are complex, so I look at things very holistically, incorporating your strengths and values into therapy wherever I can. I believe that our past and our present can affect us deeply but we can use those things to improve our future. Overall, I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all solution to our problems, and you do not need to be “fixed”. As your therapist, I am here to walk alongside you on your healing journey, and make therapy whatever you need it to be.

Therapy with Nikki
Our first session is normally pretty relaxed. We’re just getting to know each other! I’ll ask a few key questions about what brings you to therapy, who is in your support system, what existing coping skills do you use and of course, what are your goals for therapy. I also always ask about hobbies and any cultural or religious values that you might hold dear, because I believe that these things can be therapeutic in and of themselves and I try to incorporate them wherever I can. Don’t worry if the first session feels like a great big trauma dump! That’s totally normal and can be helpful for both of us as we get to know each other and work together towards achieving your goals
