About Daniella’s Credentials
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO and a member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association. I hold a graduate-level diploma in Art Therapy and a BFA undergraduate degree. I have also provided supervised art therapy services to a variety of Canadian and international groups.
About Daniella
I firmly believe in the transformative power of connection and I view healing as inherently relational. My therapeutic approach emphasizes community, creativity, play, and innovative thinking, encouraging clients to explore their experiences with curiosity and openness. I understand that well-being is deeply connected to those around us, the environment we inhabit, and the intergenerational traumas that shape our lives, alongside the systemic factors that contribute to daily stress and anxiety.
In our sessions, we will co-create a safe, supportive space where you feel empowered to reframe challenges and discover new paths to wellness. I incorporate a range of therapeutic tools—such as somatic practices, breathing exercises, and art-making—to help you take ownership of your healing journey. As an Arab woman, my cultural identity and lived experiences guide my commitment to offering trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care. I work to dismantle power imbalances, providing anti-oppressive support as I walk alongside you in your journey of growth and healing.
As a professionally trained art therapist, I use art as a powerful tool for nonverbal expression, helping clients communicate and explore their emotions in unique and creative ways. No artistic experience is required to benefit from art therapy—art-making is always optional and entirely your choice. I have extensive experience working with individuals, parents, groups, couples, and families across a range of ages, including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. My areas of specialization include grief, ASD, life transitions, identity, and culture. I also place great importance on the mind-body connection and provide psychoeducation to help you understand the neuroscience behind the therapeutic process. My approach is flexible and client-led, ensuring that you feel in control of each session, with your therapy experience tailored to your unique needs and comfort level.
I understand that reaching out for help can be difficult, and figuring out who to turn to can feel even more challenging. That’s why I’m always happy to answer any questions or curiosities you may have about the therapeutic process, our sessions, or myself. I warmly invite you to book a session or a free 15-minute phone consultation, where we can explore whether we are a good fit to work together. If not, I am still committed to helping you find the right therapist for your unique needs. You are never alone in this process, and I’m here to support you to the best of my abilities every step of the way.
Therapy with Daniella
In our first few sessions, we will focus on building trust and creating a relationship that feels safe and supportive. Each session will be co-created, but will generally follow a familiar rhythm: We will begin with an opening, using a metaphor to check in on where we might focus for the day. In the heart of the session, we will explore your goals through discussion, art-making, or other therapeutic tools. We will end with a closing that allows enough time to gently wrap up what we have worked on, ensuring clear boundaries are set, so you can leave feeling grounded and secure.
Daniella’s Story
My journey toward becoming a psychotherapist is deeply rooted in my lived experiences, my empathetic nature, and my curiosity about people. Having transitioned between various cultures and countries throughout my life, art has always been a powerful tool for me to express my emotions, ground myself, and stay present amidst change. It became a refuge—a way to process the world around me and navigate transitions in my life. During my fine arts studies, I realized that creating art for commercial purposes didn’t resonate with me. Instead, I was drawn to using art as a therapeutic tool, both for myself and while teaching children. This shift led me to explore art therapy, where I discovered the profound impact of combining artistic expression with psychological support. This realization was a pivotal moment in my journey, steering me toward a career in psychotherapy. Embracing this path has enabled me to integrate my passion for art with my desire to assist others, offering a unique and enriching perspective to my clients.
