I am fascinated by the beautiful interconnection between the mind and body. As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Mental Health Professional my vision is to promote mental wellness and reduce the stigma around it. I am passionate about improving the mental wellness of individuals along with facilitating personal growth and effective change. As my client, I will meet you where you are. I see you as a unique individual with your own strengths. Respecting your perspective, culture, and individuality is a key aspect of how we will build a therapeutic relationship. I am also constantly working towards providing a safe and inclusive space for you.

Using a client-centred approach, I promote holistic growth. I have experience working with a wide range of ages, including children, adolescents, and adults (individual therapy and couple therapy), from culturally diverse groups. My interest and expertise lie in helping clients with anxiety, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, stress management, anger management, life transitions, and interpersonal difficulties. I use a safe and collaborative approach where you can comfortably share your concerns without fear of judgement. This also allows you to reflect on your strengths which enables you to reach their goals.

For more information on how I do therapy, or if you have any questions, do not hesitate to book a session or a free 15-minute phone consultation using the links on this page. Even if you and I are not the right fit, I would be happy to help you find the right therapist for you.

Therapy with Farah

I use a client-centered and collaborative approach. Our first session typically involves the following:

  • A detailed overview of what therapy would look like and responding to any clarifying questions.

  • An introduction of myself including credentials and the modalities I typically use.

  • A discussion of the concept of confidentiality and obtaining your consent.

  • Then we will move to gathering relevant information including background history at a pace that you find comfortable. The aim is to provide a safe space where you will feel at ease to share. Your autonomy is highly respected.

  • Next, we will explore your presenting issues in depth.

  • Finally, we’ll talk about your goals for therapy: we’ll come up with a list of therapeutic goals that you’re hoping to achieve through therapy.

  • Afterwards, we’ll work towards those goals together!
