About Melynda’s Credentials

I completed my Master’s degree in Psychotherapy at McMaster University, with a special focus in CBT and other cognitive-behavioral therapies. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO and a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.

About Melynda


I believe that each of us is doing the best we can in our lives, with the tools we have. However, when life gets overwhelming, it can be easy to feel stuck and wish things were different—it may be easy to focus on the things that need to change, yet we feel unable to change them. As a therapist, I help my clients add to their toolkit, equipping them to manage and face the challenges that come their way while also empowering them to recognize and access the strengths already within them. I believe that each person is resilient and can grow and thrive, even if they need some help along the way. Reaching out is the first (and often most difficult) step, and I would be honoured to be of support on your journey forward.


I see every individual as unique, and as an expert on their own life. As such, I prioritize creating an open, non-judgemental space for you to explore what is important to you. Whether you want specific tools to help you move forward in your life, or simply a safe space to unpack and explore your thoughts and feelings, I will remain alongside you every step of the way. Together, we can work towards achieving your goals, helping you move closer to the life you want to live.

Therapy with me will be rooted in the unique relationship we build with one another. In our first session, I look forward to getting to know you as a whole person, not limited to the specific things you are struggling with. From that first session onward, we will work collaboratively to set the focus for our time together and build the trust necessary to confront the difficult thoughts, feelings, or situations that are bringing you to therapy.
