About Barbara

You don’t have to navigate life’s big changes and hurdles alone. Whether you’re grieving, managing persistent anxiety, feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough”, or can’t shake the sadness, I offer a grounded, compassionate space to help you gain clarity and build resilience.

I believe that in our most vulnerable moments, there is room for connection and a path toward growth. My approach is warm, attentive, and genuinely collaborative. I work with individuals to help them manage the complexities of life changes, grief, depression, and relationship shifts with a focus on self-compassion and practical change.

My approach includes a blend of psychodynamic insights with evidence-based strategies from Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and DBT-informed skills. This means we look at how your past impacts your present while developing manageable tools to help you live a life more aligned with your personal values.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably feeling like you don’t know how to move forward on your own. Getting help to support and protect your most precious resource, your mind, is a wise and brave decision! If you’re someone who is feeling stuck, alone, and has a desire for change, I could be the right therapist for you.

Therapy with Barbara

Therapy with me is like having a supportive co-pilot. You drive the bus and choose our destination. My role is to offer a warm perspective, highlight blind spots, and share practical resources along the way. Together, we’ll explore where you’ve been, understand how the past affects your present, and co-create a clear, realistic path forward.

Barbara’s Story

The best guides know the road because they’ve walked it. I’ve navigated my own major midlife transitions (e.g. divorce, coming out, going back to graduate school, changing careers, and overcoming a life-limiting phobia) which inspired my path from coach to therapist. I know firsthand how overwhelming life’s hurdles can be. Across six years of coaching and therapy practice, I’ve helped people build the practical tools and self-compassion needed to tackle what feels impossible. Moving through grief and change is heavy work, but you don’t have to navigate the journey alone. I firmly believe that no one is a lost cause, and that it is never too late to change your life!
