About Chelsey
I believe you deserve a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. I often support individuals who feel caught between family expectations, cultural or generational values, and the person they’re becoming. Together, we make room for the parts of your story that are difficult to talk about, including the beliefs and behaviours you may have learned growing up that no longer fit. We’ll start with where you are, without judgment, and explore what you want your life to look like. My hope is that, over time, you can feel more at home in yourself and more confident making choices that are your own.
I use a gentle, non-judgmental approach to help you understand the different parts of yourself, the part that is hard on yourself, the part that tries to keep you safe, and the part that may still carry old wounds. We’ll make space for these experiences, so you can respond to yourself with more compassion and make choices that feel true to who you are.
If you’ve been carrying a lot on your own, you don’t have to keep doing it that way. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what you’re feeling, and begin understanding yourself with more kindness. You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly what you need before reaching out. You can book a session through my website or schedule a 15-minute phone call to see if we might be a good fit. Even if you and I are not the right fit, I would be happy to help you find the right therapist for you.
Therapy with Chelsey
Therapy starts with getting to know you: your story, what you’ve been experiencing, and what brought you here. We’ll take time to understand your concerns and what you hope to change, without rushing the process. From there, we’ll work together to make sense of what you’re going through and find approaches that feel right for you, moving towards your goals at a pace that feels comfortable.
Chelsey’s Story
Growing up Indo-Caribbean, I learned early on how deeply culture, family, and community can shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us. I’ve also seen how some of the beliefs passed down through generations can feel difficult to reconcile with who we are becoming. As someone who is deeply connected to my culture and also part of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand the complexity of holding onto the parts of our culture that bring us pride and belonging while questioning the parts that no longer feel aligned. Due to this, I became passionate about creating a space where people can feel seen, understood, and accepted without having to choose between different parts of themselves. Becoming a therapist felt like a natural extension of that commitment; to support others as they navigate identity, family, culture, and the process of becoming more fully themselves.
