About Geraldine
Facing our everyday challenges is not always easy, and supporting people through life’s highs and lows is such a privilege for me to do, as a therapist. I see my role as one of helping people take on the challenge of finding ways to move through life with more ease and grace. Once we better understand what is going on in our lives, we are much better equipped to make change, and therapy is a great avenue to support this journey. Together we can find strength, hope and healing no matter what you might be facing.
Providing compassion and curiosity creates space for clients to better understand what is happening in their lives, and helps create room for change to happen. Bringing an eclectic approach to psychotherapy, I will introduce tools and techniques that will be beneficial to whatever challenge you are experiencing in your life. Once we identify thought patterns, and bring clarity to what you hope to achieve, change will naturally follow.
Please reach out for a free fifteen minute phone consult, which you can book online at your convenience, and let’s get you moving towards a healthier you.
Therapy with Geraldine
The first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you better. I’ll have some questions ready that will help you and I better understand your history, your life experiences, and your current situation. By the end of this session we should arrive at some goals that will help guide us through our subsequent sessions. Goals are something we revisit regularly and help keep us focused.
Geraldine’s Story
I love getting to know people, and am fascinated by how unique our journeys are. My curiosity for what shapes our lives has been a driving force for me becoming a therapist. My research in university focused on external and internal factors that play an important role in the choices we make, and helped me further understand ways that we can manage and better understand these choices.
I’m an advocate for nurturing creative expression, challenging ourselves physically and mentally, and making downtime and naps a priority.
Combining ancient practices of mindfulness with modern psychotherapeutic approaches is an area of deep interest for me. Mindfulness has played a prominent role in my life for the past fifteen years, and informs my therapy practice in many ways.
Ensuring each person feels seen, heard and empowered; that culture and personal values, as well as factors that oppress, are all addressed in my work as a therapist.
