About Geraldine
Facing everyday challenges is not always easy; however, when we come to better understand what is happening within us and in our lives, we are much better equipped to make changes. I believe therapy is a wonderful avenue to support this journey, and I consider it a deep privilege to support people through life’s highs and lows. I see my role as one of helping people to take on the challenge of navigating life with greater ease and grace. Together, we can find strength, hope, and healing, no matter what you might be facing.
With compassion and curiosity, I create space for you to gain awareness of your inner and outer worlds, making room for change to occur. Taking an eclectic approach to therapy, I introduce tools and techniques that are beneficial to address whatever day-to-day challenges you are experiencing. Once we are able to unpack and identify your feelings and thought patterns, and to bring clarity to what you hope to achieve, change will naturally start to follow.
I welcome you to reach out for a free 15-minute phone consultation, which you can book at your convenience using the links on this page — let’s get you moving towards a healthier you!
Therapy with Geraldine
Our first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you better—I will have some questions ready that will help you and I better understand your history, your life experiences, and your current situation. By the end of this session we should arrive at some goals, which will help guide us through our subsequent sessions. Goals are something we will revisit regularly, and they help us to remain focused in our work together.
Geraldine’s Story
I love getting to know people, and I am fascinated by how unique our journeys are. My curiosity for what shapes our lives has been a driving force for me toward becoming a therapist. My research in university focused on external and internal factors that play an important role in the choices we make; this provided me with a deeper grasp of how we can best manage and understand these choices.
I am an advocate for nurturing creative expression, for challenging ourselves physically and mentally, and for making downtime and naps a priority.
Combining ancient practices of mindfulness with modern psychotherapeutic approaches is another area of deep interest for me. Mindfulness has played a prominent role in my own life over the past fifteen years, and it informs my therapy practice in many ways.
Ensuring that each person feels seen, heard, and empowered, and that culture and personal values, as well as factors that oppress, are all addressed—these principles are foundational to my work as a therapist.
