About Heba’s Training and Credentials

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). As a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, I use evidence-based assessments and feedback to help engaged and married couples improve their communication and conflict resolution, and build a solid foundation for their relationship.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed and integrative, incorporating modalities such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and perspectives from family systems theory. I work with clients dealing with issues like anxiety, OCD, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life changes, while providing compassionate support in a non-judgmental environment.

About Heba

I believe that our past, environment, genetics, and culture shape who we are and how we experience the world. Honouring this, I see every individual as a unique human being—a whole person, not just a number—and as deserving of a personalized approach. Rather than making assumptions, I meet each client with respect, validation, and understanding, creating a foundation of compassion and care within therapy, to promote a sense of security and openness. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity, to be heard, and to have their value affirmed within society. Regardless of someone’s circumstances, I strive to look beyond the surface and recognize their strengths and resilience, even when these are hidden beneath layers of hurt, pain, and suffering.

I am a skilled active listener who helps clients express their thoughts and feelings by providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental therapeutic space. My empathetic nature and the richness of my own life experience also equip me to better understand how my clients feel. I primarily utilize an emotion-focused approach along with cognitive-behavioural techniques, to help people connect with their emotions and move beyond feeling stuck in their circumstances.

Heba’s Story

I began my journey having built a career in banking and investment, immersed in a world of numbers and the relentless pursuit of stock market results. My life was structured, but it often felt empty—a cycle of calculations without meaning.

One day, 15 years ago, I came across an ad for a counselling education program in Orlando, Florida. Driven by a desire to break from my routine, I decided to enroll, hoping to discover a sense of meaning. After boarding the plane, the flight attendant began to explain the safety protocols, and for the first time, I truly listened. When she instructed that in an emergency, I should put on my own oxygen mask before assisting others, it struck me—I realized I hadn’t prioritized my own well-being before, and that neglecting myself had made it impossible to truly help those I cared about.

Arriving in Orlando, I felt a mix of excitement and anxiety, but once the lectures and my education began, it was like I had been in the dark, and suddenly the light was being turned on! I discovered the power of self-awareness. This experience marked the beginning of my passion for psychology and my deep desire to help others heal and improve their lives. Since then, my journey has been filled with new beginnings and opportunities for change, and I now firmly believe that psychotherapy is a path to greater awareness and peace in the journey of life.
