About Julie
Hello and welcome! I’m Julie, and I’m honoured to walk alongside you on your journey toward wellness. My approach as a therapist is rooted in empathy, understanding, and a deep respect for your unique path. I believe in creating a space where you can feel seen and heard, without judgement, as we work together to explore your strengths, overcome obstacles, and cultivate lasting growth.
Whether your goal is to heal old wounds, navigate life’s challenges, or looking to develop self-compassion and empowerment, my goal is to help you discover the tools and resilience within yourself to thrive. I’m here to support you, every step of the way, with compassion, a sense of humour, and a focus on the future you’re working to create.
Healing isn’t linear, but with the right support, it’s always possible. Let’s take this next step toward a stronger, more fulfilled version of yourself – together.
I take a collaborative, person-centred approach, believing that you are the expert on your own life. My goal is to help you tap into your inner strengths and resources , while fostering self-compassion and acceptance along the way. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, including creative expressive therapies, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and somatic therapy to help you explore your thoughts, emotions, and body in a holistic way. By creating a safe space to uncover and integrate different aspects of yourself, we can build a deeper understanding of your feelings and challenges, and ultimately work to empower you to move toward healing and growth.
Taking the first step toward seeking support can feel daunting, but you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Whether you’re feeling stuck or simply need someone to listen, reaching out is a courageous and important step. Feel free to check out my webpage, book an appointment or a free 15-min consultation, whenever you’re ready – I’m here for you.
Julie’s Story
Psychotherapy is a second career for me. My original career path allowed me to support women and children living in emergency and conflict zones across the globe. However, life has a way of shifting our plans in the most unexpected ways!
After living overseas for nearly 10 years, I found myself needing to pause my career to care for my family. Navigating Ontario’s medical and mental health care systems to support my children with chronic health issues, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and complex mental health challenges became a full-time job.
Finding support to help manage my own stress, anxiety, and burnout led me to discover how transformative and important psychotherapy can be. This experience ignited a deep desire in me to help others explore their unique challenges, discover their strengths, and find healing.
Through this work, I have come to deeply appreciate the power of acceptance, self-compassion, and understanding our own strengths. My personal experience shapes how I want to apply my professional training – with empathy, respect, and a commitment to helping others navigate their unique challenges with resilience and hope.
Therapy with Julie
I truly understand how challenging it can be to face life’s ups and downs, and I’m here to help you find the path that feels right for you. My goal is to approach each session with curiosity, caring and compassion.
Together, we will start by exploring your background and what concerns bring you to therapy. Then, we’ll talk about what you want to get out of your therapy sessions, and develop goals that work for you!
