About Safi

You can build a life that looks successful and still feel anxious, disconnected, or unsure where you belong. Perhaps you’re good at being who people need, but less sure who you get to be. You may look capable while living with panic, shame, or the exhaustion of keeping up. Maybe you struggle with sexuality, faith or you’ve built a life in a new country without quite feeling at home. Belonging can be complicated. I work with clients across ages, cultures, and beliefs. You don’t have to share my identities to find recognition here. Together, we’ll explore what you need, what you’ve learned to hide, and what you want to do differently.

I support clients with anxiety, panic, the effects of abuse, identity, and relationship concerns. My collaborative, eclectic approach draws on person-centred, psychodynamic, and existential therapy, alongside IFS, EFT, and CBT. Together, we’ll explore patterns, make room for difficult feelings, and find practical ways forward that fit your life.

You don’t need a polished explanation, a clear goal, or the “right” problem to begin. Come with the contradiction, the embarrassment, or the thing you’ve never said aloud. I believe change begins in a relationship where you can feel understood and be honest. Showing up can be the first part of that work. Reach out, and let’s see how it feels to talk.

Therapy with Safi

You can expect warmth, honest reflection, and space for the parts of yourself you usually edit out. I’ll notice patterns with you, ask questions that go beneath the surface, and help turn insight into everyday change. We’ll make room for humour, uncertainty, and difficult feelings. Your feedback will shape our work: I want us to build a relationship where you can tell me when I’ve missed something

Safi’s Story

I’ve built a life across Pakistan, the UK, and Canada. As a Queer South Asian Muslim immigrant, I’ve learned to adapt, begin again, and hold identities that can seem incompatible. I know the pride of finding your footing, and the loneliness that can coexist with it.

My own healing from panic, anxiety, and emotional abuse deepened my compassion and helped draw me to this work. It doesn’t mean I know your story before you tell it; it means I take seriously the courage it can take to share it.

After more than a decade in marketing and corporate life, I wanted to make helping people the centre of my work. A mentor’s motto stays with me: “Most therapists can help most people with most problems most of the time.” Today, I work with clients whose histories and identities often differ from my own. I bring curiosity about how each person makes sense of their world, and a belief that a relationship where you can feel understood, take risks, and be honest can become a powerful place for change.
