About Sophia
My clinical philosophy is rooted in the belief that meaningful change is shaped by the village we surround ourselves with. Together, we can identify your core values, process emotions, and develop the skills to feel more grounded, connected, and fulfilled within the broader community of your life.
Your challenges do not exist in a vacuum. As an integrative practitioner, I consider how the different parts of your life, including relationships, work or school, and physical and emotional health, intersect with your identity, culture, interests, and broader social and socioeconomic contexts to shape your wellbeing.
I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Instead, I work collaboratively with each client to understand their unique experiences, and to find, build, and sustain a village of care that supports meaningful and lasting change.
I provide a trauma-informed, non-judgemental space for clients to slow down, understand deep-rooted narratives, and map their experiences. By using a strengths-based approach, we can collaboratively identify helpful techniques, tools, and goals to make meaningful change.
If you have any questions about therapy with me, you can book a free 15 minute phone consultation, or you can call or email me. If I’m not the right fit, we can also work together to find you a therapist or resource that can support your needs. No matter if this is your first or fifth time seeking support, I admire your step in a new direction and I look forward to meeting you!
Therapy with Sophia
In our first session, you might feel like you’re being interviewed for the first few minutes. But don’t worry, you already got the job! The role is a great one (Human Being) and the main job responsibility is to be your authentic self. We’ll talk about your puzzle pieces (e.g., the things that keep you busy, your relationships, and who you are) and then we’ll explore what brought you to therapy in greater depth. By the end of the first session, we’ll identify your goals and motivations and have a gameplan for collaboratively working towards those goals in future sessions.
