About Carla
I believe that every person has strengths, even in the moments when those strengths may seem difficult to identify. I see therapy as a collaborative space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. I believe our experiences, relationships, and environments shape how we understand ourselves and the world around us. As your therapist, my role is to meet you where you are, help you make sense of what you may be experiencing, and support you in creating a life that feels meaningful and authentic to you.
I offer a warm, collaborative, and affirming space to explore anxiety, relationships, identity, life transitions, and other challenges that may leave you feeling stuck. Using strengths-based and anti-oppressive approaches, I work alongside you to understand what matters most to you, recognize your strengths, and find ways to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
If you would like to learn more about my approach to individual therapy, I invite you to explore my webpage. If you have any questions or would like to connect, please feel welcome to call or email me. You can also book a session or schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me. If you find that we are not the right fit, I am pleased to find the right therapist for you.
Therapy with Carla
Therapy with me is a space where you can be honest, curious, and authentically yourself. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, while working together to understand your experiences, recognize patterns, and explore the areas you hope might change for the better. I’ll meet you with openness and compassion as we navigate the process together.
Carla’s Story
My journey to becoming a therapist began with my own experiences in navigating difficult and complex relationships, which sparked my interest in understanding how our personal experiences can shape the way we view ourselves and the world we live in. That curiosity eventually led me to social work; a profession that allows me to support others through some of life’s most challenging moments. Early in my career, I worked with at-risk youth navigating housing insecurity, addiction, sexual exploitation, and violence. I later expanded my clinical interest through hospital social work, where I supported individuals navigating psychiatric disorders, substance use, personality disorders, and complex mental health concerns. These experiences deepened my understanding of trauma and resilience. My personal and professional experiences have shaped my belief that people are so much more than their diagnoses or circumstances, and have reinforced my passion for creating a space where clients feel empowered to write the next chapter of their story.
