About Courtney

I believe that every person is unique, and so is their story. Trauma, personal experiences, relationships, illness, and societal barriers can profoundly shape how we perceive both ourselves and the world, and how we interact with others. These factors create a complex tapestry of beliefs, values, and dreams, which contribute to each individual’s distinct identity and worldview. Growing up in a small town, I often felt a heavy silence surrounding mental health issues; this experience fuelled my passion for understanding the nuances of human emotion and behaviour. Since then, I have had the privilege of helping individuals navigate their challenges and achieve their goals, working from a holistic and collaborative approach.

I have worked with diverse clients facing wide-ranging presenting issues, from anxiety and depression to relationship struggles and trauma recovery. I aim to create a safe and empathetic environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement. By integrating evidence-based techniques with a deep understanding of personal narratives, I empower individuals to find their own paths to healing and self-discovery.

For more information about my approach to therapy, please keep reading. If you have any questions, you can reach out, and I would be happy to chat more. You can schedule a session or a free 15-minute phone consultation with me, using the links on this page. Even if it turns out that we’re not the right fit, I would be more than happy to assist you in finding a therapist who meets your needs.

Therapy with Courtney

In therapy with me, you can expect a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where your thoughts and feelings are valued. I prioritize building a strong therapeutic alliance, as I believe that a trusting relationship is fundamental to effective therapy. We will first delve into your background information, then move into your main concerns and goals, before collaborating on a treatment plan that will help us to reach your goals.

Courtney’s Story

My journey toward becoming a therapist was driven by multiple factors. Growing up in a small town has long fuelled my passion for opening up the conversation surrounding mental health and removing the stigma attached to it. Initially pursuing a career in education, I became acutely aware of the struggles many children and their families face in silence, while lacking access to appropriate resources. I wanted to make a bigger impact on communities as a whole, and I believed that change could be fostered within the therapy room, with the positive effects rippling outwards for years to come. Each client I work with teaches me something new; they continue to remind me of the inherent strength within vulnerability, and I consider it an honour to walk alongside them on their journey.
