About Jasmine

I believe that everyone is on a unique journey, following their own path – this makes each of us special. As we navigate this journey, we draw on our individual strengths, abilities, and skills in order to heal, grow, and foster meaningful connections.

Working from a holistic, humanistic perspective, I view each person as a complex whole, composed of emotional, cognitive, social, physical, and spiritual dimensions. Accordingly, two people can share the same experience yet perceive it very differently, influenced by a variety of factors. I also like to connect with people through their stories, emphasizing their strengths and the sense of meaning they create.

Whether you are seeking to better understand yourself or want help navigating a particular situation, I am here to collaborate with you to develop a personalized therapeutic approach that meets your unique needs.

I create a non-judgmental and supportive environment where you can feel safe to share your story and gain insight. My approach to therapy is both anti-oppressive and strength-based, rooted in my belief that every person has inherent greatness and that hope can be found in any situation.

In our sessions, you are the expert on your own life, while my role is to listen, help you connect the dots, deconstruct ideas, and uncover deeper meanings. In addition, I offer various supports, strategies, and tools to enhance your well-being. Together, we will explore your experiences and concerns, working collaboratively towards finding solutions that resonate with you.

Keep in mind that you are not the problem; the problem is the problem!

I am here to provide support to you, so if you would like more information about my approach to therapy or anything else, please feel free to reach out with any questions. You can use the links on this page to book a session with me or to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. Even if we’re not the perfect fit to work together, I would be glad to help you find the right therapist for your needs.

Jasmine’s Story

My journey to become a therapist has been a long and meaningful one. In immigrating to Canada as a child with my family, we faced culture shock and financial hardships, coupled with a lack of mental health awareness within my family. Living through these experiences motivated me to consider a career in mental health.

Throughout these challenges, the meaningful connections and experiences I shared with my family were invaluable, as we all worked to support each other. Coming from a large family of eight, we faced financial struggles but also had the blessing of helping each other bear the emotional toll it took on us all. Even though we all lived through the same circumstances, the impact varied for each individual.

As a result of my experiences, I embrace a holistic approach to psychotherapy, as I have personally witnessed the value and importance of such a perspective. Looking back, I wish my family and I had sought therapy to help us navigate our most difficult times; however, what I have been through fuels my passion to assist others who are seeking help. I truly believe that therapy can make a significant difference, changing lives for the better.
