My duties and responsibilities include providing a comfortable atmosphere for our in-person clients, as well as ensuring that our therapists have everything they need so they can do therapy comfortably and safely in our offices. Sierrah Hamilton

Practicum Support

Hello! My name is Sierrah, and I am the former practicum coordinator for the Affordable Therapy Ontario Practicum Program (ATOPP). This year I made the difficult decision to take a step back from this role to start my own graduate studies as a master’s student in Clinical Psychology at the University of Victoria in BC. In my current role, I am actively involved in our practicum program through my membership on our hiring committee (where I have the honour of getting to meet and interview many of our incoming practicum students, maybe including you!). I also support our current practicum students by managing and tracking Direct Client Contact hours to ensure everyone stays on track and is moving at a pace that feels good to them. If you are interested in applying to our practicum program or have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or anyone on our lovely ATOPP team.

I have a background in supporting sexual assault survivors and am passionate about accessible, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive therapy that centers your needs and lived experiences. Outside of work you may find me on a canoe trip, deep into a board game, or blending voices with my choral buddies.

Brooke Henshall

Marketing Manager

Hi! I’m Brooke, the Marketing Manager at Building Bridges Psychotherapy and the host of the Mental Health Matchmaker podcast, where I spotlight our incredible therapists and the services they offer.

I’ve always had a deep passion for self-discovery and mental health, and I find the process of therapy fascinating. Outside of my role, I teach yoga and journaling workshops, and love diving into personal development books, trying new workout routines, and spending time in nature – especially during the summer.

I’m honoured to be part of Building Bridges Psychotherapy and truly believe in the ripple effect therapy has in making the world a better place.

Emily Galloway

Practicum Coordinator

The role of Practicum Coordinator is one that I hold close to my heart. As I started out in ATOPP as a practicum student myself, I can speak first hand to how impactful it was to have done my internship with this program. The level of training, support and genuine care you receive from those overseeing you in your transition to the field is unparalleled. You are in a space where you are truly held throughout the entire experience. Now, as both a practicing psychotherapist at Building Bridges and coordinator for the ATOPP program, I feel so privileged to be in a position where I get to help usher in new therapists and hold others in their journey the way I was held in mine. My hope for those who participate in ATOPP is that they are able to look back on the start of their journey with warmth, and graduate with the belief that they are a powerful force of healing in this world through the unique way they build connection with others.
